Hey Hussettes !

*Daft thought* for today ?

Heard those Hussy peeps talking in recent days of *daft thoughts* to do a gig in December which involved fancy dress ( ie band & fans in '118 118' kinda 'Snowboard' / Dire Straits sweatbands kinda stuff   )

My *daft thought* ???

Seen those Hussy peeps doin' an excellent *one off* acoustic gig years ago, when I think I was maybe twelve  at some strange place called Cottiers Theatre in Glasgow, which most folx might've missed, but would've DEF LOVED !!

So *daft thought* ?

A wee Xmas acoustic The Hussy's gig where maybe we might hear wee acoustic versions of 'Snowboard' /'Rock Steady' (In a The Clash Reggae Stylee ! ) and the likes of 'Rachel' , or whatever The Hussy's decide ?
(Even though I know some of those Hussy peeps are averse to acoustic guitars ! )

I'd def send £10.00 direct to The Hussy's via their 'Paypal' address to indulge in such a The Hussy's acoustic eve (So that they didn't need to bother with *door takings* etc !! )
(And maybe you folx would too ?)

Told you it was a *daft thought* !!
(But a thought  !!)

Keep Hussying !

If they did an acoustic gig AND a full electric gig in Edinburgh AND were definitely playing Snowboard AND it didn't require me taking time off work (I have no holidays left) then I'd be seriously tempted to travel up to Scotland.

Eve TheAlex !

That's some list of demands !! Lol !!!

A one off acoustic The Hussy's gig in Glasgow would be well worth the train fare and skivving off work for a couple of days, believe me !!!!

An excellent wee venue would be Firewaters !!
(But anywhere would do ! )

Know it'll never become a reality, but If it did, those Hussy peeps would probably choose a night where I've already got tix for another gig .

My thoughts for a wee The Hussy's acoustic set list ?

T Rex Records
Radar
Snowboard
Cheap Flowers
Shop Dummies
We Expected
Rachel
Marty
Atom City Girl
Poppy Day/ That's Entertainment (A The Jam Cover)
Goodnight Not The End

Encore

Tiger
Napoleon Dynamite
Rock Steady

Oh Well !

You can but dream ....

8) Jack

P.S. NOTE to those Hussy peeps ! (Just incase ? )

Got tix for ..

The Wedding Present - Friday 12.12.08.
The Fratellis - Saturday 20.12.08.
&
The Rezillos - Sunday 21.12.08.

But am free for the other 28 days of December !

Wow, The Rezillos. I'd go and see them if they played locally.

You've made me realise I wouldn't be able to go if it was the weekend directly before Christmas, so that's another demand. I'll be going to Mostly Autumn and James gigs.

you might have picked a better venue as well... what is it about Hussy's fans and wanting to see them in dark caves?

also HJ, didn't you forget your visit to the pantomime?

Eve Al !!

I thought Firewaters was quite well lit, and as long as you stand in front of the pillars, you get a decent view and decent pix ?
(See The Hussy's Gig Pix Version 1.0 - Firewaters 04.05.06. )

The amount of The Hussy's fans they'd be able to get to go, was kinda at the back of my mind, hence Firewaters.

Ideally I think The Hussy's in the ABC2 would be most excellent If they could persuade their fans to go !!!!

And No !!

I didn't forget the pantomine Al (or Disney On Ice Johny  ) , I just thought they'd damage my cool fascade If I listed them. Lol!

P.S. For the interest of The Hussy's I also have the following December 'gigs' to attend ....

The Singing Kettle - Braehead Glasgow 14.12.08.
Disney On Ice ( High School Musical 2) -Braehead Glasgow 23.12.08.

Hey TheAlex !

Seen them last year and they were brilliant !!!

This tour they're playing the whole of 'Can't Stand The Rezillos' from start to finish plus more .
I'd catch 'em If you can
(See Below)

"THE REZILLOS will appear later this year at venues up and down the United Kingdom on tour performing the ENTIRE classic album "CAN'T STAND THE REZILLOS". New single, No.1 Boy, will also feature, along with a handful of other promising new moves. Dates are: 10 Dec: The Brook, Southampton. 11 Dec: Islington Bar Academy, London. 16 Dec: Academy 2, Newcastle. 18 Dec: Kinema, Dunfermline. 19 Dec: Lemon Tree, Aberdeen.21 Dec: ABC2, Glasgow. 22 Dec: Liquid Room, Edinburgh. (The performance at The Corporation, Sheffield, has been rescheduled for 7 Feb, 2009.) "

Love the look on Eugene Reynolds face in this one as he holds the microphone out for one of the fans to sing . Lol!!

The Hussy's & The Rezillos as a double bill at the ABC2 ?
How cool a double bill would that be ?
Two fine examples of Scottish Pop !!
An acoustic set by The Hussy's followed by the punk/power pop of The Rezillos.
Think I'll stick that on my 'Santa List' Lol!

With 'Mystery Action'

Unfortunately none of those dates are anywhere near me. Nevermind. I didn't know they were releasing new material though so I'll keep my ears open for that. :)

Hey TheAlex !

Shame that The Rezillos aren't coming to a venue near you !

Actually emailed The Rezillos to see If they would consider having The Hussy's as one of their support acts, but suppose all those plans are made well in advance, as they still ain't emailed back yet .

Suppose also, that like The Hussy's, the band just play the music and let folx like Al do all the 'organising stuff' ?

ie

1. Wake up band.
2. Point them in direction of toilets.
3. Point them in the direction of the nearest 'chippie'.
4. Get them through the day.
5. Point out where their beds are.

Then

6. Go back and hang upside-down in the wardrobe until 'needed' the next morn .

Suppose (yet again. Lol !!)
If the band had wanted, Al could've maybe 'pulled strings' to organise them supporting The Rezillos If The Hussy's had so desired, due to him being 'part' of the ABC ?

Probably a nightmare gig for The Hussy's, but sure Fili would've enjoyed it (even though she likes Tyron Maiden  ) as think she also likes the Ramones who are from that same period as The Rezillos !

Oh Well !!

That's Santa let me down again !!
