Eve Hussettes !

Anyone have a favourite song from today, that got them through it ?

Mine will come at the end of this post as, as you know I like rambling, and so shall !

Always say everything is connected, well my fave song from today is !

Think I'm suffering from 'S.A.D.' (as here in the UK it's went all dark and gloomy and that's at 4 in the pm  ) so decided to go out and do what I hate doing most ...S.H.O.P.P.I.N.G.( a bit like entering 'The Matrix' as everyone seems to walk diagonally/ freeze in mid step / suddenly decide to walk in the opposite direction and all that 'Matrix' slow motion stuff as though I know which direction they intend to travel !! )

Anyways bought lottsa clothes (Bit daft 'cause If anyone looked in my wardrobes they'd think I attend funerals professionally,as everything is black  ) and some music CDs.

Loaded all the CDs into my music system and hit random expecting The Editors 'Papillon' to be my fave then a weird excellent song came on ...

The song and todays little connection ?

Recently bought The Hussy's 'Japanese Graffiti' and added the lyrics to 'Aftershave' in the lyrics thread and they mention my fave song of today (Of which I'd got the title wrong because I'd never heard the original ! )

8) Jack

PS might sound a bit naff on your PC sound system but sounds excellent If you have a sound system like mine which has it swirling around the room between the four speakers !

Hopefully everyone will hate it, which will make it my wee personal fave !

PPS Music is 'Novocaine For The Soul' !

Eve Folx !

Went to see The Hussy's for one most excellent gig last eve, missed my train home, so of course ended up in some excellent club to God knows what hour, and made lottsa friends?
(Answers on a postcard as to how I actually got home ! )

Today's songs that got me through the day?

Bit strange, as I still thought it was Saturday night until I started Sunday an hour ago.

Have never understood why some folx like only a certain genre of music (whereas it would put me to sleep and have me sticking my head in the gas oven as it would be sooo boring !)

'Wired' a bit backwards, so If I'm happy I play sad songs ...

If I'm sad I play mental noisey songs ....

Most times I just play 'don't give a sh*t songs' as I usually feel most excellent most days.

P.S.

Eve T!

And welcome to The Hussy's forum!
Song 2 is (No it's not Blur, but Nine Inch Nails  )

And don't worry about me T, I may sound and look mental, but my bark is worse than my bite ..

I'm just like a little Rottweiler that's been neutered!

Eve Hussettes!

Bin doin' that thing all week and all day that I hate even more than S.H.O.P.P.I.N.G. .. D.I.Y. P.A.I.N.T.I.N.G !!

Like how can anyone actually enjoy D.I.Y. painting as it's sooo monotonous?
(Think I was actually 'classified' brain dead at half past Thursday  )

Always imagine a job interview for a painter and decorator going like so ..

INTERVIEWER : Tell me Mr Smith what technical skills do you have ?

MR SMITH : Well I can hold a paint brush and move my arm up and down.

INTERVIEWER : Do you have any other skills which you think enhance you're capability to be the person that we're looking for?

MR SMITH : Well I can hold a paint brush and move my arm left and right.

INTERVIEWER : Mr Smith do you have any specialist skills which think might persuade us to hire you?

MR SMITH : Well I can paint the same colour on top of the same colour without my brain turning to mush.

INTERVIEWER : You're hired !!!!

Anyways folx enough inane rambling, the songs that got me through the day and brought my brain back to life ...

Inserted a long forgotten The Pretenders album into my sound system, cranked up the volume (the only way to play it) and all thoughts of white spirit and paint fumes were dissipated !

Image

Tattooed Love Boys

The Wait

The Phone Call

Message Of Love

Precious

Have always had problems working out folx lyrics, but this band must take the biscuit for having vox that are hard to work out?
(Anyone who can tell me what is being sung in 'The Wait' deserves a medal !)

'The Phone Call' is a bit dirgy but has the most excellent riff in the middle If you play at max volume !

Over And Out .

8) Jack

PS Just noticed that this album is from the old days when music wasn't 'compressed'
(A thing I learned from Al  ) to let you hear the music 'properly', so you'd be better to burn it ,then play at max volume on your music system as it'll sound kinda quiet on your PC?

That's MR. PUSSY buddy...

Novocaine For The Soul is a great song and an amusing video.

My today song for the past few days is "Tattoo" by the Who from The Who Sell Out. Brilliant vocals by Roger Daltrey and some of Pete's best lyrics. I saw the band do this song at MSG in 1973 or 1974. That show is in my top 5 of all time. Keith Moon spit on my sister as she walked by and Townsend smashed seven Les Paul's at the end of the concert. GOOD TIMES!

Hi K!

Must admit I don't have the lifespan of a gallapagos leather neck turtle so can't remember songs from that far back. :P

Was expecting a 'the loudest band in the world' guitar annihilating wee song to emmanate from my speakers once downloaded, but actually sounds like a very very early Status Quo or Move song

The Who - Tattoo

My songs that got me through the day?

Kinda inkeeping with my day of fighting 'man flu' and paint fumes ...

WEEZER !!

8) Jack

Weezer - Photograph

Weezer - Buddy Holly

Weezer - Hash Pipe

Weezer - Pork And Beans

Weezer - Beverly Hills

It does sound like a Move (or Small Faces) tune now that you mention it.

That Weezer "Pork & Beans" video is quite good.

"I ain't gonna wear the clothes that you like, I'm fine and dandy with the me inside..."

Today's song is California Man. Everyone has heard the live version by Cheap Trick, but I would have bet you $20 that this was by the Move, and written by Roy Wood.

The song is actually by the Electric Light Orchestra. I learn something new everyday.

Before I buy it on iTunes does anyone have the ELO version?

The song that's grabbed my attention and buzzed around my head like a demented wasp today has been .. 'Carve A Pattern' by Butcher Boy. Really good Glasgow (seems to be more Ayrshire according to their website) band in the style of Belle and Sebastian. Thanks to James for putting me onto them.

Todays tune is a tie between Hazel Black "7 Worlds Collide" (actually KT Tunstall) and Norah Jones "Chasing Pirates".

Chasing Pirates has a very addictive bass line.
