Hey Folx !!

Like they always say, you find things when you're not looking for them.

Was looking for something else and found this ...

The Hussy's version 1.0 live @ Barfly Glasgow dubbed to Tiger.

Cool vid and videowork I think.

P.S. All apologies If it looks like I'm looking back, but to me all that matters is the music, not who's on lead guitar and who's on triangle.

They prefer to be called "classic" Hussy's.

Old has such a negative connotation...

You Americans, always worrying about offending people.

Someone tried to persuade me recently that we should not refer to the first band on a bill as the "support", but they should be called the "opening act" as "support" might be considered derogatory.

Know your place, I say.

Probably shouldn't be referring to "The Artist" as "The Turn" then either?

"Classic " K ?
Don't than mean old but the best version?

"The Turn" A ?
Reminds of the acts down at the local old man's domino pub or kareoke night down in the moron pubs?

(No doubt over in K's US of A it's connected with hookers ? )

No HJ, your asessment was spot on.

In my job as a house engineer, the act that is performing that day may under the illusion that the world revolves around them, indeed in many cases they will have a team of people to push it around for them, but they are simply the act that is performing that day, "the turn" if you like for the evening. Musicians are generally nice people, and being in a band is a job like lots of others, with people to get on with and work to be done. Understandably, they can get a bit excitable about themselves sometimes, hence those of us who work in a supporting capacity feel it necessary to subtly remind them from time to time that they are only humans doing a job.

Often whether they need it or not:)

Bands come and go in my line of work, I have seen many of them rise and fall in the long while I've been working as a sound engineer. I however am still doing something I love.

Eve A !

That's my philosophy of life in life ..
People "are only humans doing a job."

All the same no matter what suit they're wearing, what job position they have, what car they're driving or how much money they have in the bank.

8) Jack

PS I have no suits, no job, no car and no money in the bank, but am still excellent !

Eve K !

And no it wasn't a spelling mistake !
(Bet you thought I meant mormon pubs, like do they have pubs? :P )

Meant those bars that you have on 'Cheers' and we have on 'Coronation Street' and 'Eastenders' where everyone drinks in the same bar every night/week and sits in the same seat, with the same company.

Many moons ago I went to Africa for five years and on the night I left I went to my local bar for a farewell drink, and seen all the locals in their favourite well used seats.

Then went to Africa and ....

Fought with small monkeys who were either stealing my beers or my equipment  ....

Fought with big scary baboons in Capetown to retrieve a handbag !
(Not mine ... honest  ).......

Made crocodiles leap three foot in the air ....

Walked on beds of crickets on the way to and from the showers....

Avoided encounters with snakes and creepy weird flying things ...

Alighted a steam train at four in the a.m. in the middle of the jungle in a dark jungley place filled with the night noise of scarey jungley animals and insects (all after the train driver hung out the window with a flashlight trying to see where he was for the last couple of miles) ....

And had other such misadventures .

Came home to Scotland, went to my local bar on my second eve of return and seen all the same locals in their same favourite well used seats.

What I call a 'moron bar' K !

You were in Africa for five years?

That's pretty cool, unless you were there as a poacher which I doubt. Did you bring home the monkeys that now reside in your backyard?

"Sir, would you like to declare the primates in your trousers?"

Also, Mormons don't drink as far as I know. Multiple wives and no alcohol. A recipe for disaster if you ask me.

Hi K!

Answer 1. Yes !
Had a chance meeting, a random moment, then four weeks later I was in Africa.
Stepped off the plane, didn't have a work permit, didn't know anyone, didn't have anywhere to stay, didn't have a job lined up, then spent the next five years 'winging it' and having misadventures. :)

Answer 2. Went for the life experience.
The monkeys are a pigment of my imagination K!
(but do see the occasional pink elephant wandering around my backyard  )

"Also, Mormons don't drink as far as I know.

A recipe for suicide If you ask me K !
( Don't some Moslems also have multiple wives and no alcohol ?
Maybe that's why you have so many suicide bombers?
Are there any Moslems on this forum? )

Alcohol is far better than multiple wives.

The Scotch rarely gets jealous that you are drinking ale as well... :D

And so started my love affair with the Hussy's after hearing this beautiful song - I even have goose bumps whilst I am typing this. My best feeling is at a gig when Fili dedicates tiger to me bless her

Bloody hell just noticed Bille Tygar is dancing on my rug too - is she the youngest Hussy's fan? I will try and get her little shuffle dance to Tiger and post it if i can work out how to do it
